This is a very pretty little Art Deco watercolour painting- it has been signed E. Douglas and dated 1933.
It is a very stylised design - and would look good hanging beside woodblock prints by Hall Thorpe - which are similar in abstracted shapes, colours and atmosphere.
This lovely little watercolour shows a Japanese lady walking in a garden - she wears a peach and light blue kimono. There is a little arched Japanese bridge in the distance. The lady crosses a little bridge with a beautiful array of flowers in the foreground.
This gouache / watercolour is a genuine painted picture - and is NOT a print or reproduction.
It is one of four works by this artist that I have in my Iconic Edinburgh online store... this is one of the larger sized ones. Update: two have now sold.
The image measures: 31 x 26 cm. The frame measures: 49 x 41 cm
The work has been re-framed with a simple plain black frame - and will look good in any interior. The picture also has a new fresh clean ivory coloured mount - beautiful vintage picture, well presented and ready to hang straight on your wall.
Please note: The price quoted here is from the artwork only.
The frame comes free with this artwork. Any damage in transit to the frame / mount / picture glass will not be subject to any refunds, discounts or re-framing costs from us.
