This is an attractive vintage 1970s mushroom Italian design table lamp by Prova.
It has a cream colour perspex shade, spun aluminium base and chrome stand. It has the on-off switch on the bulb holder.
In the late 1960s and 1970s, Prova supplied a range of modern design lamps at more affordable prices for shops such as British Home Stores on the High Street. The mushroom shade was obviously inspired by other contemporary Italian lamps - particularly those of Guzzini. The BHS would have made these variants more expensive models more affordable on the local high street.
This one has survived the sad demise of the shop - as the stores have all now closed. So these vintage BHS designs are becoming quite collectable items.
This lamp is one of TWO that I have in my store - so excellent if you are looking to acquire a matching pair for your interior. Just so there is no confusion - the listing here IS FOR ONE LAMP ONLY.
It is rare to still find a pair together - so might be sad to split them up. This design is not so widely available - my asking price is a fair one.
Both are in good vintage condition and I have taken a lot of images for your inspection. The only issue with the condition - is a tiny loss to the chrome on the top of the holder on the shade - this seems to be a common occurrence on these lamps - and it is certainly not a "deal breaker"! I have taken photographs of this area for your inspection.
They measure about 16 inches in height - and with a shade diameter of just under 13 1/2 inches. The base diameter is 6 1/4 inches. The weight of a single lamp is 1.3 kg unpacked. The length of the cable is only about one meter so you might wish to place this lamp near to a power socket.
Postage for a single lamp would be just over £10 with Parcelforce 48 This will be applied at the checkout.
