I just love this vintage handbag / evening bag.
Stylistically, I would say that it will date to the mid-1960s.
The bag is just beautifully made - and of exceptional quality.
It does not have any maker's tag with maker's details or country of origin - so will just have to describe it for you.
The bag is very clean with no condition issues - and I don't think that it has ever been used and has been stored in a drawer since the day that it was made.
The bag is basically a square shape and bright sunshine yellow plastic bead mesh on each side - there is an embellished design of squares of multi-coloured beads, as photographed for you in close up. The beads are not held together by cotton or clear plastic thread - but are kept together with a fine metal one (again a mark of quality).
The same clear bright yellow beads decorate the handles - a pair of metal arches - and clipped onto the bag with pretty hoops - the handles can swivel out to a 180-degree angle - so this allows you to get into the bag easily to retrieve contents. The thing that I love the best is the beautiful clasp (photographed). You pull it back slightly and the bag opens.
The interior is a plain yellow colour and textile lined in a matching yellow colour - again perfectly clean with no stains or damages. There are no internal pockets in this bag. The frame at the top is covered with yellow coloured threads wrapped all around.
Never seen such a lovely example - and the colouring is quite stunning. The rarity of the design and the quality and condition of it is reflected in my asking price - you won't find any other one like it. It is very glamourous and if you were going to a wedding or special evening event teamed with a little black dress - it is just going to catch everyone's eye.
Dimensions: Height of main body is 9 inches. The width is 8 inches.
Overall height including the handle is 10 1/2 inches.
So a nice size - and you can probably get everything that you might need inside of it.
