These mid-century dishes, designed by the celebrated Norwegian ceramic designer, Inger Waage for Stavangerflint, are now highly collectable.
This dish dates to the 1950s and is fully marked to the reverse - and has initials I.V.
Her work is featured in a comprehensive study of her work "Inger Waage: Design for Stavangerflint 1953 - 1979)". This tome was published by Jan Gjerde in Norwegian - with the inclusion of a short English summary.
This is one of two little screened and hand-painted dishes by Waage in my online store (as photographed).
I have owned these for many years - and they have been at home in my display cabinet - and as such are in excellent condition.
This listing is for the one shown in the main photograph. This shows a pair of little birds - a pale green one to the left and a blue one to the right - they are standing amongst the foliage.
The original paper label is on the bowl peak at the bottom - it is rare to find this original sticker still on one of these bowls.
It measures 16 x 9 cm.
These dishes are much sought after and offered here at a very fair price.
