This is a fabulous 1970s ice bucket. It is a rare survivor and I have never seen another one in this design before.
It is a large size - the body of the ice bucket is 8 inches in height. Including the swing handle - it is about 12 1/2 inches. The diameter is 8 inches.
This is a good quality larger one - and it would probably chill with lots of ice in it - two bottles of Prosecco.
It is a very stylish ice bucket - with a clean white plastic interior. The exterior is coated in a mock leather or black vinyl. This has a very subtle embossed large conjoined polka dot pattern all over.
There is a thick band of a swing handle.
The lid is made of a shiny chrome metal - and finished off with a large wooden ball finial - about the size of a ping pong ball.
Great minimalistic lines - you don't find these more "macho" vintage ice buckets in a black colour so easily .. it will look great in a black and white minimalistic interior.
Unpacked it is 1.4 kg grams - phew! bit of a beast.
It is a lovely futuristic design - in great vintage condition. Sadly, with no maker's marks on it, but is probably British in origin.
Lovely and clean - no nasty scratches, discolouration or smells etc - as nice as you might expect to fond. You won't be disappointed with it.
I have owned this particular piece for many years - and never used it - as "kept it for good". A fine piece of mid-century design. It would look great in a monochromatic futuristic interior.
