This is a lovely genuine antique Staffordshire figurine dating to the end of the 19th century, probably about the 1860s / 1880s. It is a nice large size and looks great on display.
My figurine shows a man seated on a white horse. I think that he may be an ancient Highland huntsman - as he has a deer slung over the shoulder of his horse in front of him. He wears a tall feather bonnet and a kilt. I have another slightly larger similar model listed - but this one has more gold embellishments on the model.
The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks .
The paintwork to this piece is minimalistic - but it is enlivened by all the gold speckls all over.
There is a little craquelure to the glaze mainly confined to the reverse. But it is just fine to the front. Most importantly the longs spindly legs of the horse are unbroken - which is amazing with its age. I have taken lots of image for your inspection - please look at these carefully to assess the condition.
A nice large piece being some 14 1/2 inches in height. It is 8 3/4 inches wide and has a depth of 3 1/2 inches. This one is a great display piece - but not such a rare example - so this is reflected in my lower asking price for it.
The figurine would be very carefully packed and sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked (Medium Parcel) - this would be applied to your order at the checkout.
