This is an attractive antique Indian miniature watercolour painting.
On stylistic grounds, it probably dates to the late 19th Century / early 20th century.
It is one of two little paintings that I have that show an Indian nobleman with his falcon. The one depicts the man in a fine costume. He proudly displays his hawk, who sits on this gloved hand. There is a painted decorative blue border to the composition, as photographed.
Dimensions: Frame size is 34 x 26 cm. The image size is 20 x 12.5 cm.
It is in good condition and is in a nice gold-tone frame. It was framed at Aitken & Dott - who were a prestigious framer and art dealer in Edinburgh. It is an attractive work for display - and ready for you to just hang on your wall.
