This is an attractive vintage Handmade Glasform shouldered vase designed by John Ditchfield.
It is fully signed on the base: Glasform / J Ditchfield and was the issue number 4025. It also has its original paper label as photographed.
It has a dark blue / black colour forming the main body of the vase - this has lots of subtle lustres giving Ditchfield's renowned peacock feather sheen to the glass surface. This one is embellished with scarlet red "end of the day" drips of opaque glass. The coat the aperture at the top and run like lava from a volcano down the sides of the vase. They cool and form exciting abstract shapes.
I have taken lots of photos for that you can see all the variations on the lustre finish from different light sources.
It has no damages. A fine piece from the Ditchfield studio range - which offers more unique handmade pieces. It is certainly stunning example - I have taken lots of images of it so that you can see all the details.
Dimensions: The height is 9 3/4 inches. The diameter at the widest is 6 inches. The diameter of the base is 3 3/4 inches. It is a nice heavy piece weighing 1.7 kg unpacked.
