This is a lovely vintage Danish amorphic shaped candlestick or candleholder.

It is made by Dantorp Design, Denmark and is marked to the base, as photographed.

These Dantorp items are now highly collectable and much sought after.

This is an unusual design with an undulating base that curls around and under to form a little handle. The candle holder issues from the top tongue section. Below, is a little circular-shaped foot. Other examples by Dantorp were made to a similar sort of design - but they were intended to be hung on a wall. This one is designed to sit on your worktop or dining table.

Dimensions: Length back to front is 5 3/4 inches. The width at the widest point is 3 1/5 inches. The diameter of the circular foot is 2 1/2 inches.

This candlestick is made of heavy brass - and has a very shiny almost mirror finish golden sheen to the metal. Due to the very reflective nature of the metal - it has been very difficult to photograph the form properly.

It is in good vintage condition with no damages - there are no dents or disfiguring scratches to the surface patina.

A nice piece of Danish metalwork - hope that my photos do it justice. It will look fabulous in a Scandi-modern interior - more of a fine sculptural item than a daily functional piece.

My asking price reflects the high demand for these pieces of fine Danish metalwork.

I also have two pairs of Dantorp wall scones in my Iconic Edinburgh online store - of course, postal discounts would apply.
