This is a lovely and very rustic Midwinter design dating to the early 1970s. It is part of a range decorating Stonehenge wares.
These striped patterns were designed by Eve Midwinter and issued in 1973. There were three colour variations - Earth (in brown); Moon (in blue) and Sun (in yellow).
They reflect a move towards a more natural and country style in the 70s; when the country house look was popular. As ceramic wares - all the Stonehenge pieces are very durable.
On offer here is a large lidded serving dish or tureen. It has large and chunky handles on each side of the pot.
The main body section has a diameter of 7 ½ inches. It is 3 inches in height. The height including the knop on the lid is roughly 6 inches. From handle to handle it is 10 inches.
Lidded serving dishes in this pattern remain harder to find - and my price is certainly a fair one for this fabulous dish.
In good condition - with no damage.
Being so substantially made - it has a bit of weight to it and this will make posting a little more expensive. It will have to be posted with Royal Mail Recorded Medium parcel. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
