This is an earlier piece of handcrafted bottle vase that was probably designed by Michael Harris. It is not signed by him but has flame pontil mark, as photographed. The flame pontil mark was generally used from 1974 to 1979.
It is part of his "Aurene" range for Isle of Wight Studio Glass. It is impressed with the "flame" pontil mark on the base. Aurene vases date to 1974 - 1982. It is made of glass, clear in nature with a slight tint of grey-blue to the main body. This then has lots of chocolate brown and amber flecks - sprinkled through out. The base is a brighter cobalt blue with some slightly darker blue mottled patches. All as photograpend.
I love the big ball stopper - this is original to the vase. It is a brown and ochre yellow colour with swirls. I have taken lots of images of it. It is in excellent condition with no damages.
It is 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest. It is 7 3/4 inches in height (including stopper). The height without the stopper is 5 3/4 inches. The rim section has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches. In great condition with no chips, cracks, or bruises. The interior is nice and clean with no staining or condition issues. It is a nice large size and an early piece of decorative Isle of Wight glass - it has a certain rarity to it - and this is reflected in my asking price.
It is now getting much harder to find these early Isle of Wight art glass works
