This is a lovely large Poole charger or footed plate - shallow dish. The dolphin mark on the back of the plate dates from 1966 - 1980. It is also marked as being Shape 4.
A fine vintage 1970s design. The plate is in good condition with no chips or cracks. A couple of tiny surface scratches to the glaze (please check all my images). This is reflected in my much reduced price for this attractive larger plate.
It is from the Poole Delphis range. The decoration on this one is quite unusual with its abstract wheel form. The design is certainly very painterly. The red colour is a bit darker on the actual piece of pottery. It is more of a dark red claret shade.
It is a large piece of Poole at just over 10 1/2 inches in diameter (27 cm). The height is about 2 inches high.
