This is a most fabulous LARGE vintage 1930s glass goldfish bowl lampshade - complete with original hanging chains.
These shades are often nicknamed goldfish bowl or flycatcher shades.
It is not only a large item with a diameter of 15 3/4 inches - but it is also a most substantial example - with chains etc it comes in at a stonking 4.2 kg unpacked. It is also nice and deep - with a height of 7 1/2 inches.
The domed pendant shade is a top quality one - made of thick white glass, with sugar pink swirls throughout to resemble marble. It has good quality and very decorative bronze genuine Art Deco metal ring attachments for hooking on a hanging chain.
This shade comes with its original hanging chains. These are heavy bronze chains, top quality and very decorative with the links being rectangular in shape. These are nice and long - with an overall drop of 28 inches (as photographed) - so perfect if you have a house with high ceilings. Of course, for lower ceilings - these chains could easily be shortened.
It also comes with its original bronze ceiling rose fitment for hanging.
It has been difficult showing just how nice this lamp is on only five photographs, but rest assured you don't see these vintage 1930s glass shades that often of this quality.
My asking price takes into consideration the rarity of this fine shade and the sheer quality of it. It would certainly be a talking point in any period interior. Sold to you all nice and clean - and of course with no damages.
