These are a fine large-sized pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are genuine Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
They are such stunning examples with no chips or cracks - they have their original dark glass eyes. They have a lot of their original gilding - which delineates the curls on the dog's fur - and the padlock and chain around each dog's neck. You often find this gold is rubbed through handling over many decades and is rare to find so much on these antique Victorian dogs. They certainly look lovely with all the gleaming gold and of such a substantial size - indeed probably the largest pair that I have put up for sale.
They are a matched pair, as created.
They are fine display pieces - and will look fabulous on a mantlepiece or old-fashioned kitchen dresser.
This is a very large pair. Height: 13 1/4 inches. Width: 10 1/2 inches and with a depth of 4 1/4 inches.
Due to their weight, they are UK posting only. This will cost about £10 and will be for Parcelforce recorded post to you. This will be applied to the order at the checkout.
