This is a very fine large Staffordshire figurine.
It is a large size: measuring some 12 1/4 inches in height; 9 inches wide and with a depth of 3 inches.
Unpacked it is 1.5 kg in weight - so sadly, I would be unable to post outside of the UK.
This one shows The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) out for a ride on horseback.
This would have been a fabulous item to pop onto a fireplace in a Victorian sitting room.
As you can see in my photographs, this one is beautifully modelled.
The horse's legs are very fine indeed - and I can't believe that this delicate figurine has survived about 140 years with no damages.
This is a genuine antique example - and certainly not a reproduction piece..
The figurine is in the most excellent antique condition - with no chips, cracks or any restoration. Just some little surface cracking to the glaze here and there - commensurate with age - and only to be expected on figures of this great age. There is a very fine hairline to the back - near to the air hole. This is more of a scratch - as photographed. The fine legs are intact and with no damages.
