This is one of a few charming little etchings by William Walcot that I am listing from my own personal collection.
Each etching is pencil signed (very faintly to the bottom right margin), it is in excellent antique condition and beautifully presented.
Each has a clean cream coloured mount and is framed with a simple black molding. Ready to hang on your wall.
The exceptional condition has been taken into account in my pricing.
This etching is entitled: "Decadence of the Roman Empire", and it was published in 1925.
Walcot's superb architectural etchings always give a marvelous suggestion of space and in their subtle grasp of scale. They are highly distinctive in style - they combine architectural accuracy with an impressionistic appearance of vibrant everyday life.
The image measures 16 x 23.5 cm and is pencil signed.
Frame size is 36.5 x 42.5 cm.
Please note: The price quoted here is from the artwork only.
The frame comes free with this artwork. Any damage in transit to the frame / mount / picture glass will not be subject to any refunds, discounts or re-framing costs from us.
A particularly fine print by this celebrated printmaker and in such fine condition. In good condition with no issues - listed at a fair price for this harder to find subject.
