This is one of a few charming little etchings by William Walcot that I am listing from my own personal collection.
Each etching is pencil signed (on this one very faintly to the bottom right margin), it is in excellent antique condition and beautifully presented.
Each of my Walcots has a clean cream-coloured mount and is framed with simple black molding. They are all ready to hang on your wall.
The exceptional condition has been taken into account in my pricing.
This etching is entitled: "Decadence of the Roman Empire", and it was published in 1925.
Walcot's superb architectural etchings always give a marvelous suggestion of space and in their subtle grasp of scale. They are highly distinctive in style - they combine architectural accuracy with an impressionistic appearance of vibrant everyday life.
The image measures 16 x 23.5 cm and is pencil signed. The frame size is 36.5 x 42.5 cm.
This is a particularly fine print by this celebrated printmaker and is in such good condition. It is listed at a fair price for this harder-to-find subject.
UK postage will cost £10 for Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery - this will be applied to your order at checkout.
