This is a vintage powder compact for pressed face powder.
It was made by a company called MASCOT. It dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is unused. It is in a like-new condition - so no hygiene issues with it. The ASB underneath the Mascot logo stands for A. S. Brown & Co. (Manufacturing) Ltd - who made these compacts on behalf of Mascot. C
It is a more unusual one as the lid is inset with a fine porcelain plaque - which is decorated with an image of a single stem red rose. There is a fine gold-tone band around the plaque - and the rim has a black enamel band.
The mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface. The inside is designed to hold a cake of pressed powder. It has its original gauze sifter and the original paper Mascot "care" label. The lid still has an original sticker which reads Genuine Porcelain Plaque.
The base has an engine-turned pattern with the word Mascot in the centure.
The compact measures just under 7.5 cm (3 inches)
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
My asking price reflects its age and its fine condition.
It will be posted to you with Royal Mail postage in the UK.
