This is a lovely little vintage 1960s / 1970s piece of Italian Mandruzzato Sommerso glass.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
I have owned this one for many years and thinning out my collection a little - but will be sad to see it go. I am listing a few other ones which have sat on my window ledge for over 20 years.
This one is a really massive example of these faceted Somerso vases.
It is a stonking 11 3/4 inches in height. It the widest point it is 4 inches.
It is a beast coming in at 2.5 kg in weight.
I have never seen another one quite so large - or in this colour - so a rare piece - this is reflected in my asking price for this one.
With its more unusual dark grey or pewter shade and its extra-large size - it certainly looks fabulous on display on a Scandi-modern bureau or cabinet.
It is a single cased piece - with a transparent dark smoky grey colour to the interior - and this has been encased in a thick layer of crystal clear glass and then all cut with faceted angles all around.
These vases with facets and refections are notoriously difficult to photograph. It certainly looks better in "real life" than in my photos - it was quite tricky to photograph - but I am sure if you collect these Sommerso pieces that you will know how fine these pieces are.
Any strange white lines on my images, rest assured, are not on the glass - but are simply reflections from the glass.
Sadly - for UK posting only. The postage quoted here is for a large parcel to be sent with Parcelforce 48 tracked and signed for.
