This is an attractive 1970s Mdina paperweight. It is a larger magnum size. It has an engraved signature to the base: Mdina.
It has a lovely striped pattern with vertical stripes made up of ochre yellow dots, with a diagonal streak of dots and a little yellow curl on the top. The main body of the weight is made of a bright turquoise blue glass - like the sand and the sea and taken from colours found in the Maltese landscape. To me - it looks a little like a sea urchin - to very organic in design and of course looks great on display. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Dimensions: Height is 3 1/4 inches. And the diameter at the widest point is 3 1/2 inches. The weight unpacked is 970 grams in weight.
