This is a lovely piece of mid-1950s Danish glass.
It was designed by Christer Holmgren for the Danish company, Holmegaard. The colour is called May Green.
Holmgren (b. 1933) was a distinguished Swedish designer and he is best known for his designs for the Danish Holmegaard Glassworks from 1957–1970.
He is probably best known for his designed for the Carnaby series of glass and the iconic Neck Glass for Holmegaard - this was worn with a leather thong around your neck to allow you to keep your hands free at cocktail parties.
This stylish vase is pattern number 17796 - and is signed and inscribed on the base, as photographed. This one is a more unusual larger vase of this shape. My asking price is for a larger sized example of this shape.
It is a nice size for display. The vase is 8 3/4 inches in height and is 6 inches in diameter at the widest point. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It is 1.1 kg unpacked.
UK posting will be with Royal Mail Recorded Medium Parcel. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
