This is a popular piece of vintage Murano glass probably dating to the 1980s. The glassware is a little figure which takes the form of a plump little circus clown. He has a little fat body which makes him look a little like a large tomato.
He stands on a plinth to stop him rolling about. This plinth is made to look like his chunky big conjoined clown's feet. There is a polished pontil mark on the base and this has been polished down to leave a large smooth circular pontil mark on the bottom of his feet.
Height is 6 1/2 inches. His body has a diameter of about 3 1/2 inches at the widest point. He has no damages. I have personally owned this wee fellow since the 1990s, and he was vintage then, so he must predate this time.
My chunky little clown is in good vintage condition with no damage. He is a sturdy wee thing that is made of thick glass with a good bit of weight to him.
