This is a fabulous 1930s Art Deco Table Lamp and will look stunning in a period interior.
It is made up of beautifully modelled geometric tapered octagonal shapes of clear-cut glass or crystal - this is wider to the top and tapers to the base of each section. In between each clear section are spacers of faceted square clear mint-coloured glass squares, as photographed.
Each stacked faceted glass section is held together by a thick central chrome pole or upstand - and this is reflected in all the glass facets.
The base is a thick slab of black "Vitrolite" glass (that you would find on old 1930s bathroom splashbacks). The base has an incised and polished cable channel on the base - so that the electrical flex that runs through it keeps the lamp all nice and straight on display. There are some marks on the base - where it has been picked up and put down over many years - and this is commensurate with age and use - and shows this to be an older period lamp.
We have replaced the old bulb holder so that the lamp is now earthed and safe - this was an appropriate choice following the original fitting. We have also re-wired it for your safety with black cloth-covered cable. We have added a nice long length for you - this is about 4 meters in length.
The lamp measures 15 inches in height and the base is 4 3/4 inches square.
CONDITION: With its myriad of facets, different colours of glass / crystal - and the chrome insert etc. I found this lamp very difficult to photograph. I have taken lots for your inspection. It is without damage - no chips or cracks - and it is all ready for you to just plug in and use.
It is a great decorator's piece and I certainly have not found another one quite so beautifully made. I have it priced up very fairly given its age, condition, and the complexity of the making.
I have found it difficult to find another one quite like it. It is certainly a very well-made piece - and very substantial and has a good bit of weight to it - it is 3.1 kg unpacked. This would limit it to UK posting only.
It will cost about £14. 95 to post to you with Parcelforce24 - this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
