This is an ORIGINAL lithograph in black ink on cream coloured wove paper. The image was drawn directly onto a lithographic stone by Pablo Picasso.
It is titled "Jeu De Cape" (Pass with the Cape).
The lithograph shows a matador in a bullring using his cape to make a pass at a charging bull.
It is not pencil signed or edition numbered - but is dated 6.3.61 in the stone.
This issue comes from a series of original lithographs made by Picasso showing images of bullfighting. The prints were issued unsigned for the series "A Los Toros avec Picasso" which was published by Sauret in 1961. There was also an edition of 50 pencil-signed examples printed from the same lithographic stones by Mourlot Frères at the same time.
After publication, the stone was ground down at the end of the print run so that no further prints could be pulled from it.
The image size is 22.9 x 30.5 cm
