This is a fine set of six vintage Edinburgh Crystal Glasses.
They are all matching items - and in the harder to find pattern classified as EDI8 (pattern code EDIEDI8). They are vintage patterns, long since discontinued.
These glasses are on a smaller size and would be suitable for small glasses of white wine, sherry or ports. They measure as follows: The height is 4 5/8 inches. The rim is 1 3/4 inches in diameter and the foot is 2 1/8 diameter.
All six are in perfect condition with no damage. Each has an old Edinburgh Crystal / or simple Edinburgh etched mark on the bottom of the foot. These marks were used in the 1950s / 1960s. So helps to date the glasses.
This is a more unusual pattern - I am listing these at just under £7 each glass. Given their quality - this is a very fair price. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Postage would be with Royal Mail Tracked post. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
HISTORY: The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860s at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh.
In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company.
In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
