This is a stylish vintage "Party" Pattern made by the Swedish Pottery, Rorstrand.
This little three piece set consists of a teapot with wicker handle, a little milk jug and open sugar bowl. It is very unusual to find this Party Pattern as as small group.
I also have trios listed on my site. I have these listed as a wee job lot of four trios and another pair of trios. So another six cups, saucers and side plate to be had.
The pattern was designed by the Swedish ceramic artist, Marianne Westman (1928 - 2017). It has the Rorstrand mark to the base as photographed. The mark is very light on each piece - a very pale silvery grey colour.
The design was first produced in the early 1950 and is a fine example of minimalistic Scandinavian mid-century design. These pieces are very rare and are now highly sought after. The pattern consists of bands of styliseed tulips that are depicted in slate grey and dull mustard shade. There is a tiny black dot on each flower representing the stems.
My set listed here consists of a teapot with original wicker handle, a wee milk jug or creamer and an open sugar bowl.
The teapot measures: 5 3/4 inches in height from top of lid to base. It has a diameter of 4 3/4 inches. From handle to spout is 6 inches. The overall height from base to top of the handle is 9 inches. The milk jug is 3 inches in height and from handle to spout is 4 inches. The diameter is 2 3/4 inches. The open sugar bowl is 2 inches in height and the diameter is 3 3/4 inches.
My firm final price breaks down as follows: the teapot is £165 (it is just so rare!). The milk and sugar bowl is £55.
