This is a lovely vintage boxed pair of vintage coffee glasses made for the Finnish company, Iittala, and first designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1957. These ones are a slightly later issue - as annotated on the box.
The little mugs have a glass insert - which sit snuggly in the little silver coloured filigree metal holders. The design is called "Tsaikka" and each glass has it's red Iittala of Finland sticker.
All the little glasses in my set are in excellent condition - no chips or scratches to the glass - and all the holders nice and shiny. I don't think that they have ever been used and indeed come in their original retail box as photographed. The box has a few wee scuffs on it and a tiny tear to the bottom of the image on the lid, again as photographed.
They are each 8 cm in height - and have a diameter of about 6.5 cm.
Lovely items for bedtime cups of fruits or herbal teas. They are certainly popular and classic items of Scandinavian design.
