have had these wee toys for a long time now - but decided to put them up for adoption.
I am not sure who made them - but they look like vintage 1960s Japanese / or Chinese Export items.
They are just such fun and totally adorable. Going to pop them back in my display cabinet at home until they are re-housed.
My two toys are made of cotton fabrics for the main body sections with embellishments and details made of felts. They are stuffed - and I think since they are quite rigid in feel - that they are probably tightly stuffed with finely milled sawdust.
So the two are for sale here - the price is for the PAIR, as photographed.
So - first of all we have Mr Tiger: I think that he might be a 60s Chinese export - which is now a hot collector's area. He is a chunky big cat - his main body is yellow with printed orange and black stripes - his face is created from stuck-on felt shapes - he has an Oriental symbol on the top of his head. He is adorable. He measures about 4 1/4 inches in length and is 5 1/4 inches high (including tail) and with a width of about 3 inches.
Next is Mr Skunk: he looks more Japanese - he might have had a wee paper label on his tummy but sadly that has now gone. But dating from the same period as my tiger. He has a plush body of a fine cotton velveteen material - and again felt details on his face. He is slightly smaller than the tiger. He is 6 inches in length including his tail - and same with a height of 4 1/2 inches - his width is 2 1/2 inches.
Both are pretty clean with no rips or tears - and all the stuffing is intact with no leakages. I have taken lots of images so you can assess them properly.
