These are really cute and great additions to your vintage cocktail bar. They date to the 1950s or early 1960s and are made of hand-carved wood. They are made by Anri and as Italian in origin.
ANRI was founded by Anton Riffeser who came from a line of woodcarvers in the Tyrol region of Austria. In 1912 he started a workshop in St Christina which became part of Italy after the First World War.
Each figure on the bottle stopper is articulated and they move. The cork section fits into your bottles to keep the contents fresh.
Both my stoppers are in excellent condition with no damage. Both are also nice and clean. This pair have particularly skilled carving with lots of detail to the facial features. They both have the same movement - you pull the lever in the back of each stopper and the arm holding the wine bottle rises and tips into the figure's now open mouth.
These little mid-century bar accessories are highly sought after - and this is reflected in my asking price. They are listed at £20 each one.
