This is a lovely quality item for the collector of wine or champagne-related items.
It is a little keepsake made to commemorate the millennium and is engraved along the bottom edge: 31 December 1999.
It was made by the French company Christofle - who made quality silver and silver plate gifts and novelties. This one has all the markers details on the base, as photographed. On the top, it says Dom Perignon with a crest.
It is made of heavy cast brass - which has been silver plated. It opens up with a concealed hinge mechanism - and when open you pop in a little champagne cork - perhaps to keep as a souvenir of a special event such as a wedding, special birthday or celebration.
I have taken lots of images.
The cork safe comes with little textile pouch inside the box - and with its original box. All in just excellent vintage condition.
It is 6 cm in height with a diameter of 4. 5cm and has a weight of just over 0.2 kg.
Given that it comes with the box and pouch - and everything is in such lovely condition and by such a quality maker - my asking price for this wee champagne novelty is a very fair one.
It will be sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded post. This will cost £4.95 applied at checkout.
