This is a very fine antique Viennese bronze sculpture of an exotic lady.
Peter Tereszczuk was an Austrian-Ukrainian sculptor known for his bronze Art Nouveau figurines. He was born in 1875 in Wybudow, Ukraine. He studied wood carving at the school of Arts and Crafts in Vienna under Hermann Klotz.
The majority of his work was made between 1895 and 1925 in Vienna.
Tereszczuk died in 1963 in Vienna, Austria.
This lovely sculpture was made about 1920 and is beautifully modelled.
It is signed to the base (as shown above)
The lady wears a thick necklace and her hair is covered by a headdress. Her head is tilted back in a haughty pose.
She takes the form of a portrait bust and sits on top of an integral plinth base. Sadly, the name of the lovely lady who features in this artwork - has been lost over time.
As you can see a finely modelled bronze - and a perfect addition to your collection of antique miniature bronzes.
