This is a fabulous and stylish orange enamel lidded casserole dish made by Le Crueset.
It is nearly new and in excellent vintage condition - clean inside and on the base - with no chips or cracks.
It is oval in shape with heavy-duty handles on the lid and also on the base section. It is 32 cm at the longest point on the main body - and has the number 16 on the base.
The pot has a capacity of 7.2 litres and can be electric, gas, induction, ceramic, halogen hobs etc.
These ovenwares are made for the special Doufeu cooking method - which was developed by Le Creuset. If you look the lid has a deep indentation on it - this is a reservoir for cold water or ice. Application of cold items here - exaggerates the condensation reaction inside and helps to enhance the flavours of your items cooking inside. I am sure that seasoned chefs etc will know how this works.
These pots are expensive as new and with a normal retail price at around £340.
This one is less than half the price that a new one might fetch. Only have this one - and it is listed at a fair price given its nice condition etc . I am sadly not that much of a cook!
As you can see from my photographs - nice example. Clean with no burn marks etc. A very good deal if you are looking for one.
