Awe, this is such an adorable little Continental porcelain figurine.
ONE SOLD IN MINUTES... ONLY ONE LEFT.
It dates to around 1890 - so is from the late Victorian era.
It was made by Sizendorf Dresden - and has their mark on the base, as photographed.
This little white cat wears a powder blue bow - and this is picked up on the little floral posies which embellished the footed bowl in front of him. The little feet on the ball - echo the little feet on the kitty.
The ball is hollow with geometric apertures - and this suggests that this piece would have been placed on a dressing table and filled with sweet-smelling petals or potpourri to freshen the air with a lovely floral fragrance.
Dimensions: Height is 5 inches. Length is roughly 4 3/4 inches. Depth is 3 inches.
Weight is just over 300 grams.
These little Sitzendorf cat potpourri vessels are hard to find as single items - amazingly I have a pair in my Iconic Edinburgh online store. UPDATE: ONE SOLD in MINUTES OF LISTING - SO ONLY ONE LEFT NOW. Just so there is no confusion - the price here is for ONE of my little cats.
