This is a delightful little bachelor or breakfast set made by Susie Cooper in the early 1950s - so now nearly 70 years old.
It is from my own collection and I have had this wee set in my china cabinet since the 1990s. It has always been on display and never used - so in excellent condition.
This set is now quite hard to find, especially in these colours. It is made of very delicate bone china - white and shiny exterior decorated with little hand-painted creamy yellow polka dots - the interior of the cups, sugar bowl and milk jug is the same attractive yellow colour. The lid of the teapot is yellow too - with a little acorn shape knop.
All the pieces are damage-free and all nice and clean.
This is a complete set - it is often called a "tea for two" set - and was designed for a couple to have a light tea - with a little shared plate to put little fancies or nibbles on .. there was always only one sharing plate
Dimensions: the teapot from base to top of lid knop is 5 inches and from handle to spout is 8 1/3 inches. The main body section at the widest is 5 inches. I would estimate that is would hold about 1 pint of liquid.
Each cup is 3 3/4 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches in height. The saucers are 5 3/4 inches in diameter.
The side plate has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches.
The open sugar bowl is 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches in height.
The milk jug is 2 3/4 inches in height - handle to spout is 4 1/2 inches.
Taken lots of images for your inspection.
My price for this hard-to-find little Susie Cooper set in the more unusual yellow colour is certainly a very fair one.
It is for UK posting only - and this will cost £10 with a quality tracked service. This will be applied at checkout.
