This is a harder-to-find and much sought-after large chunky goblet or chalice - made at Mdina glass to a design produced by Michael Harris.
It is very interesting with its large decorative addition of swirled glass which has been applied on the stem, as photographed.
These stylish goblets or chalices were made from the 1970s up until the 1980s.
This early one is in excellent vintage condition - it has no chips or cracks and the bowl has no residues or marks to the inside. There is one tiny little scratch on the clear foot, as photographed. It is not seen on display - but only when you hold the goblet up to the light.
The glass is apparently not signed; many were left unsigned.
It is a "sea and sand" colour - the main body is a rich blue (like the Mediterranean Sea) with yellow inclusions throughout (so resemble the sands of the Maltese coast).
Height: 8 inches. The diameter of the bowl section is 4 3/4 inches and the clear glass foot is 4 1/4 inches.
Unpacked with glass is 1.1 kg.
