This is a harder-to-find and much sought-after 1970s faceted cube vase. It has been signed by the artist, Eric Dobson, with his monogram on the base and the date 1975.
The vase is now difficult to source. It is very chunky and heavy - of bulbous shape with each side flattened slightly to achieve a cuboid form with rounded corners. It has a short tall stem. It is more of a sculptural item rather than a functional vase. The vase is made using the Tiger pattern to the glass - this effect was invented by Dobson in the mid-70s.
This early one is in excellent vintage condition - it has no chips or cracks There are some light age related scratches on the polished base where the glass has been picked up and put down over the last 50 years. I have taken photographs of this.
Height: 7 1/4 inches. The base section is 3 1/2 inches square .
