These items are probably more for the collector of vintage Danish design items.
They are now very difficult to source - and these come from my own collection which I have owned for many years. I have kept them packed away and never used them. They also come with their original packaging, which is in excellent condition.
To find these Danish Cohr candlesticks still boxed is exceptionally rare. I have amazingly one of the largest size ones and six of the medium sized ones.
This one is the "medium" lille claus candlestick.
The packaging is as follows: A square box which is green inside. On two opposite sides of the outer box is a sketch drawing of the candlestick with the text in Danish "giant claus" on one and repeated on the other side. On the other two opposite sides, two of the smaller candlesticks with sterin candles are seen. Between the candlesticks, the top of two candles is visible. At the top left is the text: "Cohr MADE IN DENMARK".
On the underside of the box are all three models of the "Claus" series with the size of the sterin candle you can put in the candlestick. "Little Claus" can take 12 mm, "Big Claus" can take 22 mm and "Giant Claus" can take 50 mm.
The candleholders are as follows: Each one is made up of three parts. One of the parts acts as a candle catcher, which prevents the candle from running down. It is made of polished brass and is designed to look like a flower. It curves downward in the center so the candle is held in place. It has four curved spaces in it that make it look like a flower.
The other two parts form the black metal foot. They are wide and arc slightly into the bottom. Their corners are finely rounded and go up in a hook-like shape at the top. In the middle, there is a rectangular section in which one could attach the candle
By placing one part across the other in the notch, a foot is created. Then you can place the flower on top,
These candleholders were made for a short period of time only - from 1970 to about 1980 at the latest.
The diameter of the gold brass section of this holder is rougly 4 cm. The original box is 7 x 7 x 3.5 cm
I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection: these are really items for specialist design or museum collection. They are therefore priced appropriately - postal discounts will apply.
