This is one of three matching genuine ART DECO period wall plaques that I have in my own personal collection at home.
I bought these back in the 1990s - and they were old then! And for the last 20 years - I had them hanging on display at home. I am doing some renovations and redecorating work at home - and have taken these down. It might be best to not re-instate them - so decided to offer them up for sale.
As you can see from my images: I have three near-identical wall plaques - and just so there is no confusion - the price quoted here is for ONE WALL PLAQUE ONLY. Each one is priced at £85.
They are not made from chalk ware - but are a lower quality slip cast ceramic - and date to about the 1930s. They are English in origin - and there is a smudged mark on the back of each wall hanging which is a little rather illegible - I can make out Made in England and .... Art Deco. The pottery mark shows an anchor surmounted by a Crown. They look very similar to variants made in Czechoslovakia - by Ditmar Urbach - but the mark on the back is not his one.
These English pottery plaques are now quite rare - and this is reflected in my asking price.
Each of my decorative wall plaques are in good condition - with no chips, cracks or damages. All the colours are nice and bright.
Each sailing ship measures 8 1/2 inches in height - and the width is 6 3/4 inches. Each one is 500 grams
UK Postage will be £4.95 for one plaque with Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. Postal discounts would apply for multiple orders.
