This is a rare survivor and probably an item for the collector of Victorian food moulds or quirky antique kitchenalia. These are banquet or ice cream puddling moulds.
This is an antique ice or ice cream mould. It consists of three separate sections, as photographed. The fact that you can take the mould apart easily is very welcome for removing frozen contents.
The mould is made of pewter and decoration on the top with fruiting vine. The grapes are raised proud and the decoration on the vine leaves are very detailed. The interior is in pretty clean antique condition - probably usable - but I would think better as a display piece in a kitchen on a large pine Victorian dresser. The pewter has a bit of a brown tinge in some of my photos - but rest assured is a nice dark gun metal colour.
Their is a Victorian diamond shaped date lozenge on the side. The base is mark 2 1/2 Pints and No. 50. The skirting section is fluted and all without any damage.
It is a substantial mould and measures: The diameter is 6 3/4 inches. The height is 3 3/4 inches.
It will have to be sent to you with Parcelforce24. It will be fully insured against loss or damage in transit.
