This beautiful vase 1980s piece of Scottish Glass. It was by Perthshire Glass - looking to earlier Monart and Strathearn glass vases for inspiration. It is not a MONART or VASART vase, and it is later in creation. It has been hand-blown, so is still a unique piece. It has a raised ground pontil as you might expect to fine on earlier pieces - but no wear on the base associated with it being older.
All the same, this is a lovely piece of vintage Scottish glass - it is a tall trumpet-shaped vase with a slightly flared rim. The rim has inclusions of speckled dark glass which creates swirling patterns - and there are also a hint of some silver aventurine inclusions (not many just a sprinkling and you need to see these in sunlight).
The main body colour is a clear sky blue colour - it is mottled with random flecks on opaque white glass - and with a darker more royal blue coloured gather to the rim. This blue is swirled about to create an attractive vortex pattern. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Dimensions: Height is 8 1/2 inches. The diameter at the top is 6 1/2 inches and the diameter at the bottom is 4 1/4 inches.
