I just adore this lovely little lamp. It is a fabulous miniature size and perfect for lighting up dark corners in a mid-century period room. The proportions and quality are just so fine.
It is certainly an elegant minimalistic shape, as you can see in my photographs. The base is made of a heavy black enamelled metal with a white bakelite on/off button switch. The button switch makes it so easy to turn off. The upstand of the lamp is made of a lovely teak wood - with a beautiful rich brown colour. At the top here is a brass fitment where you would apply your shade. A black plastic ring screws onto the lamp to keep the shade on nice and firmly.
The back is in fantastic condition. It comes complete with a brand new black flock shade that matches up well in colour and size with the base. The shade is a simple drum shade.
There are no maker's names on this lamp that I can see - but stylistically I always believed it to be Scandinavian (made for the UK market) / G-Plan Style and dates to the early 1960s.
It is in good vintage condition - no cracks, nasty chips etc and the wood has a natural finish with no dulling or staining to the wood. This will look simply stunning in a Scandi-modern interior and would look its best on a Scandinavian or G-Plan cabinet or buffet bureau.
The height is 10 inches. The diameter of the base is 5 1/4 inches. And the height from the base to the top of the shade is 13 1/2 inches.
The lamp has its original wiring, so perhaps get it checked by an electrician. There seems to be no issue with it and is in good condition. The lamp takes a standard UK Bayonet bulb fitting.
A really lovely lamp in good vintage condition. This is taken into account with my pricing. You just wont find another like it and with a new shade. It is all ready to plug in and use. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
