Brenda Lenaghan RSW was born in Galashiels in 1941.

She studied at Glasgow School of Art between 1958-63, before joining Bernat Klein in Galashiels, who were manufacturers of Tweeds for the great fashion houses of that period, including Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent.

She subsequently took up a variety of posts teaching in schools in Glasgow. In 1984, Lenaghan was elected a member of the Royal Society of Watercolourists.

This attractive little painting by her was made using gouache / watercolour - her favoured medium.

It shows an image of a romantic couple meeting in the moonlight - and it is entitled "Wired to the Moon".

The lady seems to hold the moon on a fine string - like a balloon - and there are stars around the heads of the couple. The blue colour of the sky is very stunning and is enhanced by the colours of the frame. The sheer decorative quality of this work reveals the artist's interest in textiles and illustration.

It was originally purchased from the Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh

Dimensions: frame size is 41 x 39 cm. The image size is 17.5 x 17 cm.

It was rather difficult taking images for my listing as there was a bit of reflection from the glass. Any white marks on the images are not on the actual artwork.

It is nicely presented with a wooden frame with dull gold edging and a buff olive front. The frame colours certainly enhance the pretty image - and it is all ready to hang on your wall.
