Robert Crozier is certainly one of my favorite Edinburgh artists - he creates such beautiful linocuts - often in very small editions.
His one is No. 2 from a very small limited edition of only 8 impressions. It dates to 2012.
Robert Crozier was born in Buckie and brought up on Orkney. He studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art, where he won an Andrew Grant Open Scholarship and exhibited at The Young Contemporaries Exhibition, London, in 1961.
This accomplished linocut is quite unusual for Crozier in that it does not have any people in the composition. But nonetheless - it is an absolutely lovely rendition of a Scottish woodland landscape. He has taken great delight in capturing all the pattern of the branches of the trees - it must be a winter scene as all the trees are now devoid of foliage.
It is clearly signed below by the artist, titled, and edition number.
It comes framed in a thick modern light oak frame - and all ready just to hang on your wall.
I am in two minds about adding this to my store - I used to buy my husband a Crozier linocut print every year for his birthday - and I also have two fabulous paintings by him. Lack of room prompts me to list here.
