These vintage 1980s pieces of Scottish glass are now hot collectables.
These stylish vases are made by Caithness glass and are called Cadenza vases.
They were designed in 1986 by the glass maestro, Colin Terris
The Cadenza range was very time consuming to produce and they were only made for three years - and are therefore harder to find.
To make these beautiful vases... you had a colourless gather which was rolled in white - and then with its final colour (here pink). This hot gather was then overlaid with millefiori and tiny glass chips. Finally with an external rolled on clear layer - and a dark colour was dripped on which was pulled into a heart shape - before finally cased and moulded. Wow! a lot of work has gone into making this piece!
This lovely pink example is just over 4 1/4 inches in height and about 4 1/2 inches in diameter.
