This is a lovely vintage Scottish glass bowl.
It is a genuine piece of Monart Glass. It still retains its original paper label on the pontil on the base.
This old label is marked with ink pen recording the shape as being UD and the size as being VI (as photographed).
It is a more simple piece of Monart (Moncrieff) glass -and dates to around the 1940s.
It has a pale pastel colour - with the main body of the fruit bowl being made from clear & mottled pale sky blue glass - with a sprinkling of speckled gold-coloured aventurine flakes around the rim.
If you display the bowl against a darker background or darker surface - it brings out the subtle shades more.
The diameter is 8 1/2 inches. The height is 3 3/4 inches.
Weight unpacked is 1.1 kg.
A nice enough piece of Moncrieff glass, and it is now getting harder to find pieces of Monart with their original label intact and in such good condition. It is a simpler shape and colour - but this is reflected in my asking price.
The bowl has no damages. There is one little dark inclusion in the glass - as photographed.
It will be sent to you with Parcelforce48 in the UK.
