This is a decorative large vintage Scottish Monart glass bowl.
It is a more unusual shape - and it looks very like the catalogued IG shape. It is a nice large size with a rim diameter of 9 1/2 inches. It is 4 1/2 inches in height and has a foot diameter of 4 1/2 inches.
It is a more unusual shape for a Monart Bowl. It has an applied foot. The bowl section is rounded (like a pudding bowl shape) and it flares out to a wide rim at the top, all as photographed.
The colour of the foot and bowl section is more of a pale sky blue shape and the rim is a slightly darker more petrol blue shade. The rim and top of the bowl section has sprinkles of gold aventurine, again as photographed. The glass looks quite a lighter colour with the sunshine filtered through it - or a little dark on display in a room corner.
The base is polished and there is a raised circular pontil mark (as you might find in earlier Monart pieces) The paper label which would have originally sat on the raised pontil is now missing.
As you can see from my photographs - it is an interesting piece and looks great on display. It is in perfect condition with no damage of any kind.
