This is a pretty piece of vintage hand blown Scottish art glass. It dates to around the 1950s.
It is certainly a pretty example of a bulbous mid-century bulboud Vasart vase. It is a great piece of contemporary interiors as the pastel pale green and grey-white shades of the glass fit in well with more neutral interior colours.
This vase is Vasart, but not signed on the base, but has the typical pontil prunt that you find on Vasart pieces. The colours and bulbous shape are consistent with it being a 50s Vasart piece.
The vase is a nice large one - the base is made of a mottled white-grey glass - and this is topped by the peppermint glass at the top with little rising swirls of darker green. There is a band of more swirling glass inclusions around the middle - separating the two colours - these swirls are nice and vibrant with bright tutti-frutti colours.
Nice size for display - with a height of 7 1/2 inches. Diameter at the widest point is 6 inches - and at the bottom. It is 1.1 kg in weight (unpacked). Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
