This is a lovely vintage Caithness Glass paperweight made by Colin Terris in 1981.
It is titled LUNAR III. It is from a limited edition of only 750 weights issued - this one is number 79.
It is a nice large size - and is 2 3/4 inches in height - with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches.
The weight is a slight strange one - and again we have Terris returning to outer space for inspiration.
The weight has a thin clear purple ground - this has little white sprinkles on the top of it - rather like snow - and on this is the decoration - three raised hoops or loops in different sizes and each is covered in snowy sprinkles - a little alien in feel. In the centre of the weight is a large clear air bubble. The dome of the weight has a pale lilac tinge through it.
It is in good condition with no chips or scratches. It has the edition number on the base - and the original Caithness Glass Sticker.
This is a fine Scottish weight - no longer made and looks great on display.
A harder weight by Terris to fine these days - and this is reflected in my asking price.
