This is a delightful limited edition paperweight by the Scottish glass artist, William Manson.
It is entitled Cherry Blossom and dates to 1994.
It is inscribed on the base: Caithness Scotland Cherry Blossom; and with the edition number 27 / 150. The issue was closed at 123.
It is signed with Manson's WM cane in the design.
Manson's paperweights are certainly very detailed and beautifully rendered. He was an apprentice of Paul Ysart.
This one is cushion cut with with a total of five facets on the side.
This lovely paperweight has an emerald green base - and with a little pink cherry blossom; three little lime green leaves and a glorious juicy cherry hanging below.
This weight is in perfect condition - with no damages of any kind. It has been quite difficult to photograph with all the facets - but hope that my images do this fine weight justice.
It's a wee beauty!
Dimensions: Height is 1 3/4 inches; Diameter is 2 1/4 inches.
