This is a lovely Scottish paperweight. It is engraved in a small script CIIG on the base. It is certainly a pretty little weight and a harder to find one. It is engraved Caithness Scotland May on the base and N68558. It comes from the Floral Year / Flowers of the Month series. The series of features different flowers of the months and this one is a Lily of the Valley for May. It was designed by Helen Macdonald.
This one has a dark inky-blue ground with a single lampwork flower in the center. Around the edge is a pretty border of millefiori canes. The little white flower has four bell-shaped flower heads. And two broad leaves at the base of the stem.
It is in excellent condition with no damage. I have taken lots of images for your inspection. My price for this weight is a fair one. Please note that any white marks on my images are not on the paperweight but are merely reflections of the light on the dark ground colour.
The CIIG mark on the base is reflected in my reduced price for this weight.
