This is a lovely larger, magnum-sized paperweight made by Helen Macdonald. It features an image of dolphins and seagulls and is called Dolphinarium.
It dates to 1997. The weight is ball-shaped with clear aqua-green colour on the base. In the center a lilac-grey dome - which I think represents the foam on the top of the sea. Around the edge, there are 6 blue and white dolphins leaping about in the waves. Above (confined to the top of the weight) there are two opaque white glass seagulls in full flight. It is quite a three-dimensional scene - which is an effect that Macdonald excelled at.
It has been rather difficult to photograph and I hope that my images do it justice. It looks much better in "real life". It is fully signed on the base.
It measures just over 4 inches (10.5 cm) in diameter and has a very heavy weight. This will make it a tad more expensive to post to you in the UK.
It is a very pretty weight that is in good vintage condition - with no chips, scratches, or damages.
